The Mets signed pitcher Josh Fogg to a minor league deal, reports Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post.
Despite poor peripheral stats, Fogg managed to post a 3.74 ERA in 45.6 relief innings for the Rockies last year. He tossed another 40.3 ugly innings as a starter in the minors. In his best days, Fogg was able to chew up 30 starts with an ERA around 5.00 for the Pirates and Rockies. He turned down a $5MM offer from the Rockies after the '07 season, settling for $1MM with the Reds.

ReplyDeleteThe Mets will forever sign mediocre players who under the ny spotlight will not shine, but instead drift into complete and utter anonymity
ReplyDeleteMets should sign Bedard and Wang to incentive deals and hope for high reward.
ReplyDeletethats an excellent idea. im not happy with Wang for anything but an incentives deal. i dont trust him to make more than 12 starts. Bedard i would go out on a limb and sign him to a decent deal. he's a lefty and he's a strikeout pitcher.
